Liab’ und Schneid is the Mid-Atlantic’s premier duo for authentic German Alpine Music (echte Volksmusik), the traditional entertainment and dance music of the mountains of Austria, Bavaria and South Tyrol.

Our philosophy: playing and promoting the music traditional “locals” listen and dance to, spiced up with some Oberkrainer pieces and popular hits in the German Volksmusik tradition.

We are European-born musicians performing on several traditional German Alpine instruments like the Zither, Steirische accordion, Classical and Schrammel guitar, playing traditional dances like the Boarischer, Landler, Waltz, Polka and others, and singing traditional songs and Yodels--plus a number of Oktoberfest standards.

We can be heard at German restaurants, private parties, cultural events, Oktoberfests and other venues in DC, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania--no place is too far if we are available. Also, we will work with you to accommodate your budget needs.
